Description

This screen adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic tale was the first talking version. The story centers on young Oliver Twist (Dickie Moore), an orphan child living in 19th Century London. Twist must deal with the harsh conditions of a workhouse and eventually becomes a member of a gang of pick-pocketing youths. While living with the street gang, he meets a cast of colorful characters such as the Artful Dodger, Fagan and the notorious Bill Sykes.
